WebCT Course Export Summary

There are several ways to export courses from WebCT for import into other systems - in our case Descire2Learn version 8.1.2. Each mehtod has its own advantages and disadvantages. The method chosen depends on a number of factors such as the number of courses, size of courses, person extracting (instructor or technician), system access, and time requirements.

Possible methods of exporting courses or parts of courses:

• export by instructor or administrator
  
• use WebDAV to move files
• zip files and download
• use the instructor web interface to export single content modules and/or quizzes (under Manage Course)
  
• export by administrator only
  
• export course using WebCT course migration utility (installed by default in version 4.1+)
• export course from command line using cp_api.pl perl script
• export courses using WebCT Course Migration Toolkit
