I have a few LiveRoom Questions and one LOR question.

  1. If LiveRoom is across the state and there are only 500 concurrent users allowed at a time, how will this be scheduled to make sure that students are able to access their classes when scheduled?
  2. Who will do this scheduling?  I assume it will need to be centralized if this is a single instance of LiveRoom for the entire BOR.
  3. How will it be scheduled and will it be a first come/first serve model?
  4. Can student groups use LiveRoom?
  5. Will the 501st student be kicked off if there are already 500 students logged in?

My LOR question:

  1. I am still unclear.  Are they contracting to have one LOR for the state or one LOR per school in the TBR?

If D2L guarantees conversion of existing courses what process will be followed when they don't convert correctly.  What type of response time can we expect in those situations?

Another question, this time about time zones for the server.

Can we assume the server will be in Eastern Time?

Is this something that can be changed for the instance so East TN folks can have Eastern Time and Middle/West TN folks can have central time as what is displayed on the server?

Additional questions that have come up by instructors and designers. These are probably best directed to D2L staff.

What is the support for PHP within D2L? Can PHP pages pull data from a mySQL database that is located somewhere else?

What is the support for controlling printing/copying of quiz questions - can you use something similar to the noprint javascript that is sometimes used in WebCT? (available in the Ask Dr. C forums)

From Dr. Joanne Bassett (via Lisa Henriksen):  The first weeks of RODP courses, the servers are extremely slow.  We have been told this is due to the heavy volume of traffic.  If D2L is going to host RODP and all other TBR schools in Tennessee, what is their plan to handle this extremely large volume of traffic?

At Pellissippi, we have just a small number of non-credit students who use WebCT currently. At this point, we just create their accounts manually in the WebCT database so they authenticate directly from WebCT since they do not have an account in Active Directory

How are continuing education students authenticated?
