Introduction

Nashville State has elected to convert courses in Spring 2007, selected test courses on D2L during the summer, and offer all courses on D2L during the Fall 2007 term.

Conduct training for course cleanup and provide one-on-one support as needed. In late April, early May, include use of the D2L toolset in managing a D2L course. Repeat these for the Fall 2007 in-services. Provide training for Southeast, Cookeville, and Humphreys County representatives, Library personnel, and Testing Center. (See Training Schedule)

Create a D2L support web site for faculty and students. Use Arizona materials.

Batch convert all remaining courses from the production server. Email will go to faculty to determine the number of web-enhanced courses to convert. (March 2). Requests for accounts are due March 12; conversions by March 30.

Batch convert courses from the development server.  Email to faculty by Mar. 19. Requests due March 26. Courses converted by Mar. 6

Campus Help Desk

The NSCC Help Desk will support D2L questions from faculty and students during the normal operating hours. NSCC Help Desk support for D2L will then roll over to the Tier 2 Help Desk for the remaining 24/7, 365 days support. NSCC does plan to utilize the admin support from D2L.


Training (Campus)

Instructional Services is planning for three types of training for faculty: face-to-face, on-demand modules, and one-on-one support. There will be one full-time trainer and two trainers who each have three hours of release time.

 

Hours may be scheduled in the faculty lab for course conversion support.

Face-to-face training sessions will be scheduled as shown in the table below.

 

In addition, NSCC will want to participate in the regional training sessions offered for Middle Tennessee.
