Known Issues v8.3 - HTML Editor

  • As of 8.1, if content contains invalid header or body tags it may not display in the Design View of the HTML Editor.
  • Editing a topic that was created using JavaScript may cause extra brackets, spaces and quotation marks to be inserted into the code.  Symbols do not always display as expected when you add them to HTML files from within the Locker tool.
  • Text that is formatted as bold or italic in Safari cannot be removed in other browsers

From Ray Bertani, CSTCC:

Question:  editing in the code in the html editor in the News items and the course content area windows for those faculty that want to edit in html code …. the icon was missing to do this.  To get the icon to be visible for editing code in the html editing feature in 8.3 ….

DOME/Config variable Browser/All Variable/Tools/WYSIWYG

In AllowHTMLSourceEditing
click Add Value and put a check in the checkbox…. Save .

In the News items and in the course content html editors, you and your faculty should be able to edit the html code if desired.
